Neither of which has failed on big fish and on big snags the hooks open out unless its a snag made of wood (tree!) and then the wire usually parts. I am not sure why you would ever want to twist and then crimp ontop of the twist as the twist is fine on its own with a rubber sleeve. The reason I crimp is is it neater and I find it quicker to do. But as you said each to thier own but I cant help feel that the crimp on the twist could maybe weaken the wire somewhat? But I actually flatten the crimps in order to ease their passage through baits should I thread the trace through them and the twisted wire also helps to stiffen the ends of the traces so as to reduce tangles on casting.

But I will admit Ian that I do find it very hard to put all my trust in the security of that tiny little tube of metal, when I never truly know what will pick up my bait next ;)Daniel Everitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03810934657655675462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5461613026489704130.post-16293539705249334012012-11-30T13:56:55.929-08:002012-11-30T13:56:55.929-08:00as some one who uses crimps a lot on electric cabl...as some one who uses crimps a lot on electric cables i would advise you not to just flatten the crimps buy a proper crimper and you will be able to make joints around swivels and hooks a lot neater and no twisting or nasty bits of wire at the ends.buy one and try itianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04233704118559913022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5461613026489704130.post-40146621445339258822012-11-30T11:33:44.706-08:002012-11-30T11:33:44.706-08:00Very simply put ......tied some similar myself ove...Very simply put ......tied some similar myself over the past few weeks and bought some booms and up traces.Just wanting to get out zander or pike fishing now as the rivers fine down .

BazBazal peckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12129911811887445244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5461613026489704130.post-14413792551409821192012-11-30T10:56:19.107-08:002012-11-30T10:56:19.107-08:00Daniel,
